Kingston and the 1000 Islands Legal Conference 2025

This presentation looks at how everyday legal work evolves in Ontario. It describes growing client-facing technology, why lawyer groups matter for advocacy, and what current compliance expectations mean for sharing client information with service providers. It clarifies when and how to explain data sharing to clients, offers simple options for confirming identity without needless hurdles, and flags the practical impact of reports that can be triggered by suspicious activity rules. It shows where AI adds value for routine tasks like pulling details from documents and summarizing files, while cautioning against relying on AI to draft core legal work. The tone is practical and ready to use.
