This presentation will cover income tax planning strategies including Intergenerational Business Transfers (from Bill C-208 to current relief in section 84.1) through case studies to highlight strategies and potential issues or challenges we have seen in our practice.
Sheryne is a partner in Manning Elliott’s Tax Department, primarily focusing on estate planning and business succession services for Canadian owner-managed business in a wide range of industries. She has extensive experience working on engagements such as complex estate plans, cross border assignments and Canadian corporate, trust and personal tax compliance. Sheryne was involved in the CPA In-Depth Tax Course for more than ten years as a tutor and as a lecturer. Sheryne also teaches various seminars for the CPABC in the professional development program. Sheryne has spoken at a variety of internal and external income tax update sessions including the 2024 British Columbia Tax Conference hosted by the Canadian Tax Foundation focusing on private businesses and the issues and changes they face daily.
Logan is a Senior Tax Manager in Manning Elliott’s Abbotsford Office. Logan works with private owner-managed businesses on variety of tax planning matters, including estate and succession planning, corporate reorganizations and Canadian tax compliance. He has extensive experience working with clients in the agriculture industry. After obtaining his Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University, Logan began his accounting career with Manning Elliott in 2015, and attained his CPA designated from the CPABC in 2018.
